So sorry. Sometimes we wonder why things happen and for what reason. Some have answers and some guess. Just know that family and their love mean more than anything. And a good way of reflecting on it is just like you did, a pipe and coffee in the wee hours. Your family here will keep you in our hearts and minds.
That's a tough deal Mike. I had a similar situation a few years back with a friend & coworker. And your' story brings back some memories. Sound like you are able to see things in there proper perspective though. Hang in there.
