End this already
First, let me apologize for two things. One being my candor, and the other being if this is in the wrong forum...
The 'this' I have referred to is the NHL lockout. It has been over a month now, and as a lonely guy in Utah, I NEED MY HOCKEY! Am I the only one here that feels this way? I know that it is not like the sport is locked out, and I have been watching KHL and college games, and even playing the hockey games I own, just to get a feeling for the sport I love, but come one, Please end this lockout!
What are your thoughts about it, if any?

I won't support the NHL in any way! They must realize that it's the fan base that supports their teams, without the fans they have nothing. I can remember a time when sports were played by people who liked to play the game, now it's all about the money. Well screw em, they have lost a fan!

Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey...none are about the "sport" any more. In the 50s-60s you could count on a player being loyal to his team...and management being loyal to their players. Today, the only "loyalty" is to $$$$. Screw them all! I watch football when the mood strikes me...the others just don't hold my interest any more.
Sorry for your pain amigo....

It is merely a game played for millions of dollars. When we were kids, we played for fun. Pro Sports are played by ppl who never grew up. Millions of dollars a yr and they are still not happy. Millions of dollars to play a game they enjoy? Who could ask for more? If they choose to act like children, as they are now, I say, get rid of all of them and start anew.

The NHL made three quarters of a billion dollars last year and since it is a non-profit org under the tax laws, they should get off their stuck asses and pay the people that MADE them that cash. ANY org that hoards cash and ignores its people should be doomed for failure. BTW, that is PROFIT boyo, they took in 2.9 billion in income, just last year.
Growing up in Ohio, you do 2 things, football and hockey, this year I am at least glad there is more football to watch. Love that cable package.

It all comes done to this GREED!! There was a time the "common man" could afford to take his family to a professional sporting event and enjoy and have pleasant memories. Alas those days are gone, and my two sons will be lucky to see one or two pro games in their childhood. Me thinks it is time for the fans to have a lockout.

What ticks me off the most is that fact that Gary Bettman (NHL commish) REJECTED 3 COUNTER OFFERS IN 10 MINUETS! It takes me longer than that to pour my cerial! He says he "wants to negotiate", but that does not seem like it. I read their offer; in which they want a 50-50 split on the hockey money. They say that each player will be "made whole" on their contracts, yet it does not explain how......... I seriously doubt that there will be a season. The players want to play, but they just want the money promised, not half. If they are going that route, then change the contract law to how ever much time is left on the collective barganing agreement....geez-us!
