I have being compressing mine under pressure for a few days before trying it.... is this a necessary step?

the mix with the sour note is much better after sitting

I don't know if its a must, but to me it just makes sense to let them sit a few days so the different tobaccos can marry.

Bulk blending tobacco through 4noggins may be your best/most cost effective bet. Most of what I've seen have been C&D products, and they are good.

I would like to see Russ O. bring back the "Fusion Lab" at P&C. The components they offered were very high quality.

    Re: Tobacco Blending

Pressing the tobacco will definitely help the different tobaccos marry. The more pressure the better. Stoving can also help with this.

i don't have any blender ambition, though nor the abilit y/connoissances, btw what i do sometimes is to add some kentuky (in italy we have many cheap and not bad at all) to those tabacco poor on body, light in nicotine (e.g. dan skipper's flake or park lane 7) or to those that does not burn properly, the quantity of k. is a bit less than 1/3.
another good home easy blend is, to me, 50% virginia, 50% kentucky.
