A friend asked if I could rescue his meer pipe... all he had left was the bowl of a carved meer pipe... no place for a stem... just the bowl
I'm thinking a bone screw thingy and a semi churchwarden stem... but it really does not look good
any suggestions?

How about a shank extension - attach it to the bowl with delrin tenon and then attach a stem to the extension. You could use briar or even a ivory acrylic looking extension before you restem.

How about bamboo? I've done this with a broken meer a couple of times. I use SS tubing instead of delrin,,,takes a smaller drilling which lessens the chance of breaking it more.
Pic or two would help us in determining what would look good.....
