    First Pipe Tobacco You Smoked?

What was the first tobacco blend you smoked? For me it was Prince Albert, and I smoked it exclusively for years until I found the Internet.

My staple tobacco before I discovered tins and things was something called "Centurion" from my local shop. I'm sure it was just a rebranded bulk aromatic of some sort, but I'm not sure which one. I smoked some of their blend called "Match It" too. I later learned that it is 1-Q. Some years after I had moved on to tinned tobacco, I tried some more Centurion, for old times sake, and it burned hot and wet and bit me like a rabid dog (just like I remembered). By then, I had learned that that's not normal, and never went back to it.

Carter Hall. It was part of a promotional offer from CH that included a pipe, a pouch of CH and a 4 color how-to booklet. The pipe was a Willard and, although it was cheap, it had beautiful, flawless flame grain. I still have it and it's one of my favs.

Some tinderbox blend. I like it, but it bit me hard. Tired half a dozen of their offerings all with the same result. Fast forward 6 years, I found YouTube. I learned my Pack was off and for some new blends from Boswells. Much better!

CH was the first blend I tried. My first real enjoyable smoke was Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake folded and stuffed in my Golden Square apple, thanks to the advice of you guys.

I doubt if it would be legal for the tobacco companies to offer a deal like that now. They would be accused of trying to lure young people into the perils of the nasty, disgusting tobacco habit.
