Hello Campers Time To Wake Up.

So, where has everyone been? Business has slowed up. Each and everyone of us need to start posting more. Let's keep a good thing moving forward. It seems like we are slowly drifting away and this is not good. I pledge to post at least 3 to 5 times a day. I know work and family comes first but if you can "a post a day keeps the (I don't have a clue here) away".

I agree, Dave. I've been missing some of my old friends who used to be fixtures here, too (of course I'm glad you're still here, and I always enjoy meeting new people). I hope that with cooler weather coming, activity picks up a little bit. Heck, I should be outside enjoying the weather this very minute! I'll be around, though, and always look forward to interacting with my PSU friends.

I'll check in for my Craig Tarler Day smoke a little later, and hope to see a bunch of people online in a few hours. :-)

Not true, Arkie. Personally, I appreciate your input on any thread. We all have different experiences, and oftentimes there is some small detail in a post that really clicks with someone else, or takes the conversation in a whole new direction relating to the topic, even if the poster feels that what they have to say has been said already. Even when you don't have something to say, perhaps you have something to ask.

I'm sure that everything that could be said about pipe smoking has been posted somewhere else before, but a forum is a discussion, not just a user's manual. The act of keeping the discussion going in itself communicates to other people that this hobby is still alive, and that there are others who are just as passionate about it as they are. I think we have a special group of people on this forum, and I would like to see it continue to attract new members and thrive. One thing I've noticed lately is that we have a lack of new pipe smokers joining us here. Many times, they are the ones who spark the most interesting discussions, in my opinion, making the rest of us really consider how we do things and maybe making us all better smokers.

Anyway, I would like to see more posts here. Like most other social relationships, a forum can die an untimely death from sheer lack of communication.

HCraven, Thank You for expressing what I was trying to state in the original post and it was done very elegantly by the way. We as members have to participate to keep this machine moving. It just struck me this morning when there were no new post to view. I was at a difficult crossroad in my life when I was a younger man as most young men are. I was totally at a lost when my Dad gave me this piece of advice, "Dave, if you don't know the solution to the problem, then you're probably part of the problem." So, this morning I stepped back looked at the problem and realized I was part of it. If I don't post that's one less post a day and after awhile it adds up. I guess through all this rant what I'm trying to convey is that the littlest contribution is a contribution. May PSU live long and grow.

I used to post more than i do now. but i get tired of posting and havin it viewed by 25+ ppl and recieving only 1-5 replies, so i have been drifting away more and more lately

The point there is that they WERE viewed!! I only reply to a thread or post if I have something say that pertains to it. I also have posted some threads that have had just a few replies, but I don't let that stop me from visiting the forum.

Bob, you hit the nail on the head. If you only get one or two replies that's one or two more pieces of information than you started with.
