    Craig Tarler Day Smoke

Welcome to the first annual Craig Tarler Day. This day isn't to mourn his death, it is to celebrate his life and achievements. Pick a pipe and your favorite C&D blend, then kick back and honor the life and achievements of Craig Tarler, founder of C&D's Tobaccos. If you don't have a C&D blend I am sure Craig wouldn't mind you honoring him with a tobacco of your choice!!

I will start this off with some After Hours Flake in a Stanwell.

Just woke up and am now enjoying some OJK in a Savinelli, accompanied by some very strong coffee.

I admit that I couldn't wait to taste the Montford Point Marine I picked up earlier in the week, so I put a little in a MM Washington this morning. I enjoyed the sneak peek, as it were, though the rough cut demands a larger bowl, and it might work better in a briar, given the Latakia. My Savinelli Dublin seems like just the thing, so I'll have my first official bowl in that pipe in a few hours.

Herb, what do you think of Montford? I've been quite curious about it..I tried Tuskegee Airmen and it was good. I think I was getting into lat too soon though as I burned out on it. Now that I'm easing back into Latakia, I'm considering trying some a tad heavier again.

In memory of Craig Tarler, I opened my last tin of C&D Pirate Cake this morning and filled my PeterWD Manx meerschaum.

Now prepping the CPF bulldog with Two Friends Deacon's downfall.

    Rest easy Craig...you are remembered!

Just opened a aged tin of After Hours Flake and am enjoying a bowl in a Dunhill Cherrywood.
Thank you Craig for all the fine blends you and your crew have provided for us. You are missed and we dedicate this day to you in hopes your legacy lives on for many years to come!!

Sorry, Mike, I'm running a little late to the event today, and I just got done cleanin the family minivan. I had a little bit this morning, but didn't notice much more than the Latakia in the few puffs I got, but I'm loading a bowl now and will report shortly.

    Cheers to Mr. Tarler!
