Gift Part 1 - A Folding Pocket Pipe

A gift package arrived yesterday from a good friend who had said he was sending me a little something. When I opened it there was two pipes. This little pipe was so intriguing that I set to work on it right away. The first four pictures show the before state of the pipe.

The next four pictures show the pipe after much work and restaining.

If you would like to read about the process you can see it on my blog at http://rebornpipes.wordpress.com/201...enezia-vogini/

Nice job, Steve. That seems more practical to carry around and actually smoke than a standard vest-pocket shape.

LOL! Ted. The L shaped section is briar and the stem is horn. It is pretty cool

Horn! Should have guessed. Any idea on the era?
Thinking of giving something like that a try...should be fun!

Ted, my guess would be early 1900s or late 1800s.
