    Gift Part 1 - A Folding Pocket Pipe

    A gift package arrived yesterday from a good friend who had said he was sending me a little something. When I opened it there was two pipes. This little pipe was so intriguing that I set to work on it right away. The first four pictures show the before state of the pipe.





    The next four pictures show the pipe after much work and restaining.

    Steve....you did it to me again! Is that "L" shaped section briar?!? The bit looks like Lucite or Bakelite?... Whoo boy! Sweet!!!

    Nice job, Steve. That seems more practical to carry around and actually smoke than a standard vest-pocket shape.

    LOL! Ted. The L shaped section is briar and the stem is horn. It is pretty cool

    Ted, my guess would be early 1900s or late 1800s.
