I'd love to get a meerschaum bowl but they're either not around or too expensive! :-( Also looking for a full bent, but can't afford new!

These pipes fascinate me, but I haven't taken the bait yet. Thanks for reminding me about them. How would you compare a Kirsten to a Falcon. I like my Falcon with the dental bit, but I don't smoke it often due to all the unscrewing involved to change rings (though I use a bent bit of pipe cleaner vs. a Falcon pipe ring). A Kirsten seems to be a beautiful thing.

I have both. While they are both metal, they smoke differently. The Kirsten is chunkier and more robust feeling. The Kirsten also needs to be packed more than filled. The falcon is much more simplistic having only two parts.

For me the Kirsten goes out more because I don't have to worry about bending anything.

As a follow up to my previous post, my local shop already sold the Kirsten. It seemed like a good deal at around thirty bucks, but I guess I'll have to keep my eyes open in the future.

By the way WK, I'm sure those Falcon Rings are just bits of pipe cleaners anyway. Just another way to get you to spend more money if you're not paying attention. Reminds me of when I worked at a hardware store. A guy came in and ordered a half dozen bottles of Chicago Cutlery "Cutting Board Oil" at something like three dollars for a four ounce bottle, so about eighteen dollars for twenty-four ounces. The sole stated ingredient was mineral oil, which sold for maybe dollar a quart at the local Walgreen's.

If I were to be seen by the local back woods police we have here smoking a Kirsten I would be handcuffed and jailed before I could give any explanation!!

The Kirsten seems to like being packed much more tightly than a "normal" pipe. $30 is a very good price!!

I've been dying to get hold of a Kirsten, and it's a pity that they're not being produced and haven't been for some time.
Fortunately, they occasionally show up on Ebay, and I'm currently bidding for two of them. (I've already been sniped for in a previous bidding!)

I won a 3rd generation beauty on Ebay last night and can hardly wait to try it out; hope my expectations aren't too high...

That is a cool looking pipe. I'm tempted to start the search for me
