This is a blend I got a while ago in a trade with Etph3030.

Admittedly the first couple of smokes, I wasn't impressed, but I wasn't disappointed either. My first impressions reminded made me think of a "it's kind of like a good OTC blend, you don't smoke it a lot, but you should always have some around".

But having another bowl earlier, perhaps with a cleaner pallet...opinions changed a bit (again, though, I never did have a bad opinion).

First up, the description from P&C site:

I enjoy my natural tobaccos as much as my aros and even though I have several vanilla based tobacco's...it isn't one of my favorite flavors. However, I think since I'm not much of an alcohol drinker...pretty much relying on Coffee, Dr. Pepper, Coffee, Cherry Dr. Pepper, Coffee, Sweet Tea, and finally Coffee. It's hard to find a good aro that will match any of those drinks. By default, it seems like vanilla flavors go with anything.

When I got this from Ian, I immediately jarred it. It's a bit damp. It passes the "pinch" test, for me it does need about 15 minutes or so of drying time, but I don't know what this stuff is like out of the tin.

Either way , it was an easy light (seems the majority of the time I've smoked this blend it's been in my Tsuge). Perhaps because the Tsuge has a relatively small/narrow chamber, the charring light and initial light are essentially the same. A little tamp and your off and smoking.

What is really turning me on to this blend, is that I'm not picking up an overwhelming vanilla flavor, just a bit of a sweetness on the end with a bit of a vanilla taste coming through. For me though, it seems to have a long finish, I definitely have a taste of a vanilla long after finishing the bowl.

I tend to smoke slow and wet, therefore I usually need several re-lights, because of this, I really don't want to speak to it's burn characteristics; other then to say I didn't notice it smoking hot, and I didn't have any issues with tongue bite / burn.

My pallet is not defined enough yet to pick out each individual component, but I can detect a bit of the nuttiness coming from the burley. This blend isn't goopy or sticky kind of leads me to believe that they went light on the flavoring...

This is a neat little blend. It's one that I can see being a daily smoker, or a good "entry" level smoke, but I can also see this being a good blend for those who normally don't smoke aromatics, but may occasionally have a sweet tooth. And since vanilla is kind of a neutral flavor, I can see this being a good blend for those who like to layer or tweak other blends.
