SWR How to take care of your pipe booklet

A friend sent me a copy of this old booklet by SWR and it is a fun read to get a sense of times long gone. I scanned it and thought I would share it here.

Thanks for sharing this Steve. I have one similar to this, but the front cover of mine has a gent walking down the sidewalk smoking his pipe and behind him is a pretty lady looking back over her shoulder at him with a 'Do me' look on her face. I think I got it at a tobacco shop back in the late 70's or early 80's with a pouch of SWR.

with a 'Do me' look on her face.
I get that all the time, only it's more of a "Do WHAT?!?" look...
Great little booklet, from a time long gone and sorely missed! Thank you Steve!

Great. Thanks for sharing. Was the SWR Aro not made then? It has the same characteristics the brochure describes for straight SWR, and it is my daily smoke. Very interesting.

    Thanks again,

I used to have a similar booklet that was provided by Carter Hall. It was part of a package deal that included a Willard pipe (bent or straight billiard), a pouch of CH and the booklet. I still have the pipe and smoke it in rotation with the rest of my collection. It's one of my favs.
A pipe gives a wise man something to fiddle with as a means of gaining time to formulate an intelligent answer. It gives a fool something to stick into his mouth.

What a fun read! Thanks! Oddly, I had just lit up my first bowl of SWR in a while when I stumbled on this!
