Thanks Carl. I would certainly appreciate the acknowledgment for all of the information has been sourced from the All Things Meerschaum group on Smoker's Forums and the articles of mine that have been published. It is gratifying to see the spread of accurate information, which was one of the original reasons behind my accepting the invitation to start the group, when asked to do so by the SF Team. The information has spread to other venues, which is great and what I and the ATM members, currently numbering 386, have intended to accomplish for the past 4 years. Yavuz has accessed the group, under multiple aliases, and giving credit for what material he has made use of would be nice.

I myself am interested in what Yavuz has to say. After all he sells meers and I am sure he works and deals with carvers and suppliers on a regular basis, therefore has acquired a lot of information and knowledge. I don't think he should have to supply where or how he got his information, nobody has asked Fred where he got his knowledge of meers.

Before starting I have just a short note for Fred since he refered to my name above:

I have never ever reached or accessed your group at the forum you mentioned under another account name than my own one there which must be "Storient" or "Storient Meerschaums" I can not even recall and it was a long time ago I last visted that forum mentioned in your above post.The reason I had visited your group was at least 3-4 of my customers sent me emails at the same time and one gave me a call regarding the fact that you were calling me "paranoid,freak,nuts" in the public forum not only in your group but also in the general forums area of that forums that everybody could read.You kicked me out of that forum not even allowing me to defend my own self ..You were not attacking the brand , you were not attacking my products but you were attacking my personality which is totaly sad and literally a crime..You definetely did not attack my products up to now.. However ; you kept telling people that "I havent heard that brand before and they claim to be big so be warned against them,dont buy from them" etc.You were never interested in seing a product of ours yourself.

Next time before you attack people or stain somebodys name please kindly stay calm and search about them.You could at least read our history.

BTW The information I have ever provided here on PSU or somehwere else has nothing to do with Freds notes or essay or his book if he has one or whatever info he has ever provided..There are hundreds of sources of meerschaum pipes,dealers,acutioneers lots of wise people who have educated themselves. When I see a post I dont go to freds posts and ask about it and then post whatever he says.. I really do not need that and from now on I have never ever wanted that as well..

I have a masters degree in history from one of the most respected universities of turkey.Therefore I know how to make citations or direct quotation.I dont have any claim to know everything.Nobody can ever know all !! I have 2 cents article of my own that I have been working on more than 2 years..Once published be sure you ll hear about it..It is not an academic research but an artcle for fun regarding a hobby I love.. I would also love to write a couple of things on briars but I dont see myself as an expert on them despite the fact that I am a pipe smoker of 19 years and I am 33 now.

When I saw Fred here I knew this would happen one day he would act like that..I sent him a message containing a peace offer and that I apreciated his interest in meers.I still do so.. We are all over 18 years old some of us alot mature than that.. Thats really a funny stuff I have been laughing sometimes at and that I do not even recall the rest of the time.. I therefore ask Fred to smoke a peacepipe together and end those dialogs or monologs around for over a year..

P.S I would also be happy if you could remove that warning from 3 forums including the one your group is located on , the argentinian one and you know the other one is a "closed" thread on one of the other forums.

Recently, I've been approached by C.Yavuz Korpefiliz of Storient Block Meerschaum Pipes... http://www.blockmeerschaumpipe.com/ He has tried to impress me as being the largest supplier of Meerschaum Pipes in the trades. The problem is that not only have I no experience with him or his products, no one else that I know has either. Patrick, aka The Smoking Vicar, who is the Secretary & Treasurer of The Pipe Club of London, was able to provide the following reply to my inquiry about Storient Pipes...

Good afternoon, Fred.

I have no experience of pipes made by this person. He claims to have made a pipe for a "Club member". In fact, the person he claims to have made the pipe for is NOT a Club member but only a member of the Pipe Club of London's Facebook group - an entirely different thing. He has offered to make Club pipes for us, without any invitation I should add. I have asked him to send me a sample pipe for consideration but will not take it further without the agreement and endorsement of the PCoL committee.

We also had to ask him to stop posting adverts for his pipes on our Facebook page. We shall wait and see what happens but, IMHO, you are right to be somewhat wary of him at this stage.

It seems that C.Yavuz Korpefiliz, or whoever he might be, is seeking endorsement by association and has even offered to send me a Pipe as an example of his product. At this point, I'd advise caution if you are or will be considering doing business with this Seller... http://www.blockmeerschaumpipe.com/

This Seller approached me on Face Book, likely having seen the article I wrote for Kevin that is now an external link on Wikipedia. I have blocked further attempts for him to contact me thru this route. This is not the first time I've been approached by Sellers seeking endorsement. It's all good fun, as long as you know who the players are.

Other forums may accept airing of personal grievances but PSU will not. If you have any issues with each other I suggest you use private means to sort them out. Any other public airing of issues will result in posts being deleted, infractions being issued etc etc.

PSU is a happy forum with a great group of members and that is the way I want it to stay and I WILL NOT ALLOW ANY DISRUPTION HERE!!!!
