    Lakeland Brickle...hmm?!?

So...Tedvig and I traded some pipe weeds...flawless transaction btw, thanks Ted!...and my pick-up was Lakeland Brickle from Russ O.

My first bowl is burnin' in a meer as I type and all I can say is hmmm?!?. It's certainly good but that's as far as I can go at the moment. It has the Lakeland essence in the bag but isn't as fragrant as many SG's...hmm...more to follow on this one!

So...there must be quite a difference between the Fortissimo and the regular because this isn't bad. Is it a replacement for a true Kendal Lakeland? Not at all...is it a good toby using some traditional Lakeland essence that is enjoyble of it's own accord? It sure is...

Russ does state that the Fortissimo is a "ramped up" version.
That this one is working for ya I double-dog-dare-ya to try out the Fortissimo! (-:

Maybe down the road. I'd hate to order 4ozs and end up dumping it in the yard.

I like the Lakeland Brickle blends. I like Fortissimo better than regular, but don't smoke either with frequency. They are good facsimiles of scented British style blends, but they aren't quite the same. I like the fruity character, and I think fortissimo's touch of juniper really brings a nice something extra to it.

Odd thing about them, though, as strong as the flavor is in them, in my limited experience they don't ghost as quickly and tenaciously as GH blends - after a single bowl, there is only the faintest hint of a ghost the next smoke in a pipe, and then it's gone. YMMV of course!

Someone sent me a sample of Lakeland Brickle a few months ago. No offense intended to those of you that like it but it was horrible and it ghosted one of my pipes.

A pipe gives a wise man something to fiddle with as a means of gaining time to formulate an intelligent answer. It gives a fool something to stick into his mouth.
