Could Someone Help I.D. These Pipes?

First off, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I smoke a pipe and cigars. My main smoking pipe is a Brewster imported briarwood that belonged to my grandpa.

I took a couple of Meerschuam pipes on a trade as boot about a month ago and know next to nothing about them. I believe they are old and they look to be of decent quality. I am hoping someone here can tell me a little about them. The smaller one is in a case. The larger one didn't have a case and I have seen no markings on it. The stems are a little loose feeling, but other than that, there seems to be no problems with them.

Does anyone know when they were made? How about where they were made or who made them? Also, what would they be worth if I decided to sell or trade them?

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to PSU!

While I can't offer information on those meers, Fred Bass on here most likely can. If he does not answer this thread, you can always message him.

Welcome aboard! I wish I could help you with info on the meers, but I haven't a clue. +1 to what Ian said. If anyone on here can tell you about them, it's Fred.

Welcome to PSU. I'm definitely not an expert but those meers look more like cigar holders than pipes. As I understand it, cigar holders and cigarette holders were not uncommon decades ago.
A pipe gives a wise man something to fiddle with as a means of gaining time to formulate an intelligent answer. It gives a fool something to stick into his mouth.

Too bad he disappeared after only one post. I would have liked to have the small one.

I'm still checking in. I sent Mr. Fred a message, but he hasn't answered yet.

I am voting also on the cigar holder theory. I am pretty sure of it.

I think they're pipes(based on some similiar items on ebay) but the physics of even filling the bowl looks awkward!

I just stumbled up on the message... They look like Cheroot Holders to me as well.
I can't quite make out what the inside of the case logo is, which would narrow down the
    field of choices a bit.
