Ended up not going to the flea market - had to do a bunch of yard work today instead...

Same place called me again yesterday, saying the vendor brought in a box of pipes. We went up there today, and picked myself out three that looked like I could save, and the prices being reasonable. (She wouldn't budge on any of the prices).

In the small lot I picked up was an Amphora (GREAT condition), a King Erik (less than desirable condition), and a Garfinkel's (quite a bit of cake, but not very much work needed).

Here is the Garfinkel's: (A nice little nose warmer)

Anyone have more information on these guys? What I gather is that these were from Washington D.C. starting around 1968. I guess Garfinkel's was known more for their tobacco blends. I understand these were made in France specifically for the company.

Very cool. Doesn't look abused, just well enjoyed. Should be easy to clean up. I have a pre-Republic Sterling that was in much worse shape and now looks like (almost) new. I'd like to see some "after" pictures.

Oops. I seem to have missed looking at the second page of the thread. Looks much better than the initial pics (talking about the Pete). Well done.
